Reichert® 7CR

Auto Tonometer + Corneal Response Technology®

The Reichert 7CR from Reichert Technologies utilizes a patented bi-directional applanation process to characterize the biomechanical properties of the cornea and reduce their impact on the IOP measurement. This measurement, referred to as Corneal Compensated IOP (IOPcc) is minimally affected by corneal visco-elastic properties, thickness, or surgical procedures such as LASIK or PRK. As such, IOPcc is a better indicator of glaucoma risk than other methods of tonometry, including Goldmann Applanation.

The Reichert 7CR is more clinically valid in all subjects, including: normal tension glaucoma patients, primary open angle glaucoma patients, post-LASIK and refractive surgery patients, patients with Fuchs' or corneal edema, keratoconus patients, and patients with thick, thin, or otherwise biomechanically atypical corneas.

Tono-Pen AVIA®

Tonometer with Quick-Tap® Measurement Mode

Tono-Pen® AVIA, now with Quick-Tap® Measurement Mode... More confidence in fewer measurements. Tono-Pen AVIA® Handheld Tonometer is always ready-to-use and calibration-free. An award-winning ergonomic design, long life battery good for thousands of measurements, statistical confidence indicator, and now Quick-Tap® Measurement Mode, make it the most advanced Tono-Pen® yet. The one you trust in tonometry. Designed & assembled in USA.

Tono-Pen AVIA, like the Tono-Pen XL, uses sanitized Ocu-Film® + Tip Covers to minimize the risk of patient cross contamination.

Now Available with Quick-Tap® Measurement Mode.

Select from one of two measurement modes; the traditional First Generation Mode, which provides an IOP measurement typically in five taps, and now the Quick-Tap® Second Generation Measurement Mode where you can obtain a reliable IOP measurement in as few as two taps. This is especially useful for children and less cooperative patients.

No Calibration Required.

Routine calibration of Tono-Pen AVIA is not required. Spend less time worrying about your instruments and more time with your patients.

Award Winning Ergonomic Design.

With its award-winning, ergonomic design and soft-touch grips, the lightweight Tono-Pen AVIA fits comfortably in any operator’s hand, ensuring consistent measurement technique among users.

Simple One Button Operation.

To take a measurement, simply press the button once. When the light turns to green, Tono-Pen AVIA is ready to use. Gently tap the anesthetized cornea until a short beep sounds to alert the operator that the measurement is complete.

Less Sensitive to Corneal Centration.

Using micro-strain gauge technology, Tono-Pen AVIA is less sensitive to corneal centration than other tonometers and provides fast, accurate, and repeatable results with minimal operator bias.

Technician Friendly.

Simple one button operation, award winning ergonomics, less sensitivity to corneal centration, and statistical confidence indicator makes delegation of Tono-Pen AVIA to an eye care technician easy and worry-free. Only minimal training is necessary to become proficient in obtaining reliable IOP measurements.

Gravity Independent.

Unlike most other tonometers, Tono-Pen AVIA can be used in any position, making it easy to measure all patients, including those who may be confined to a wheelchair or bed.

Large Dual Sided Screens.

The IOP measurement is displayed on two large, easy-to-read, LCD screens making it suitable for both left and right handed users.

Long-life Battery.

The convenient on-screen battery indicator ensures that Tono-Pen AVIA will always be ready for use. The removable Tono-Pen AVIA POWERCEL® battery pack is easily replaced, requiring no tools. Just squeeze and pull.

Protect your Patients and your Tono-Pen with genuine Ocu-Film.

Disposable and affordable, single-use, sanitized Reichert Ocu-Film + Tip Covers protect your Tono-Pen, prevent cross contamination, and are easy to apply. Using genuine brand Reichert Ocu-Film + Tip Covers guarantees you are using tip covers that are specifically engineered for proper performance of your Tono-Pen.

Using non-Reichert tip covers may cause Tono-Pen readings to be erratic or inaccurate, and may result in difficulty obtaining measurements. Non-Reichert tip covers may also contaminate the Tono-Pen transducer, potentially voiding the warranty, and resulting in the need for costly service to the instrument.

Reichert Ocu-Film + Tip Covers are FDA cleared and are blue in color to assure the user that the tip cover is the genuine brand approved for use with Tono-Pen AVIA and Tono-Pen XL Applanation Tonometers.

Ocular Response Analyzer® G3

Corneal Hysteresis and IOPcc

Corneal Hysteresis: Measure beyond pressure.

Ocular Response Analyzer® (ORA) G3 is the only device that measures Corneal Hysteresis (CH) and Corneal Compensated IOP (IOPcc). Corneal Hysteresis has consistently shown to be a more powerful predictor of, and strongly associated with, glaucoma progression, more so than key risk factors such as IOP and CCT. IOPcc is a pressure measurement that is less affected by corneal properties and more associated with glaucoma risk than Goldmann and other tonometers. Ocular Response Analyzer is engineered, designed, and assembled in USA.

How is Corneal Hysteresis measured?

Corneal Hysteresis is the difference in the inward and outward pressure values obtained during the patented dynamic bi-directional applanation process utilized by the Ocular Response Analyzer. It is a characterization of the cornea’s ability to absorb and dissipate energy, which is a function of visco-elastic biomechanical properties of the cornea.

Unparalleled user experience.

Measurements could not be quicker or simpler with Ocular Response Analyzer G3. A single touch of the intuitive user interface initiates a fully automated alignment and measurement, simultaneously displaying Corneal Compensated IOP (IOPcc), Corneal Hysteresis (CH), Goldmann correlated IOP (IOPg), and Waveform Score (WS).

Confidence, reliability and efficiency.

The advanced, patent-pending Waveform Score feature, combined with Reichert’s unique intelligent averaging technique, enhances measurement reliability and repeatability so operators can be confident in the accuracy of the measurement results. Operators can easily access all functions through the integrated touch screen display, including export of patient data for effortless EMR integration. Delegate your tonometry and Corneal Hysteresis measurements to trained technicians with ease.

Non-contact saves time and money.

Because the Ocular Response Analyzer G3 measurement is rapid and non-contact the use of topical anesthesia and/or fluorescein drops is not required, saving time and money. In addition, the risk of cross contamination is greatly reduced. The need for time-consuming sterilization of tonometer prisms, costly replacement of prisms, or use of expensive disposables is eliminated.

Unique design with patients in mind.

Ocular Response Analyzer G3 is designed with no chinrest, which saves time by simplifying patient positioning. This unique design also makes patients more comfortable and less intimidated by not feeling confined in a chinrest.

Patented air pulse, maximum comfort.

Reichert’s automatic, non-linear pressure ramp customizes the air pulse, in real time, for each eye being measured. This patented feature enables the softest possible air pulse, ensuring maximum patient comfort. In a pediatric study conducted on children between the ages of 4-18 years old found, “Overall cooperation was much better with ORA (89.8%) than with Goldmann applanation (78.7%), and all the children we questioned preferred this (ORA) technique.”7
